Fiber-reinforced Grades
Glass Fiber-reinforced Grade (GS)
Changes in product dimensions can be reduced by adding glass fibers. This material is widely used in the bodies of copiers and digital cameras.
Carbon Fiber-reinforced Grade (CF)
Carbon fibers are lighter and stronger than glass fibers. Drawing on these characteristics, carbon fiber-reinforced plastics are used as a substitute for metal.
Alloy Grade
PC/ABS
Compounding(*) PC and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) can greatly improve fluidity during molding without reducing impact resistance, which is a characteristic of PC. This material is widely used in automobiles and office equipment.
*A technique of mixing 2 or more resins to yield a plastic alloy with properties that augment the properties of each original resin.
PC/PBT
Compounding PC and PBT has greatly improved the chemical resistance of this plastic. This material is widely used in automobile door handles and hub caps.
PC/PET
Compounding PC and PET has greatly improved the chemical resistance of this plastic. This material is widely used in automobile door handles.
PC/Elastomer
This material is based on polycarbonate reinforced with a rubber component, and flame retardant properties have been added to it. This material is widely used in the battery housing of mobile devices.
Colored Grade
Capitalizing on the transparency of polycarbonate resin allows rich tones to be created. This material is widely used in a wide range of applications from parts for pachinko (Japanese pinball) machines to lenses for automobile tail lights.
Natural (Crystal) Grade
Capitalizing on its transparency and impact resistance, this material is mainly used in automotive applications such as headlamp lenses.
Optical Grade
This material capitalizes on the transparency of polycarbonate resin and it is mainly used to make CDs and DVDs.
Flakes
Natural Grade
These flakes are used as raw material for pellets and sheets. They can also be shipped by tanker truck.
